Probably not. He likely just found them on a creationist website and assumed they were true.
Most creationists are just ignorant. The professional ones like Ken Ham and Kent Hovind are the dishonest liars.

They capacity to believe such lies is evidence of delusion. The demonstration of the delusional state is confirmation of Dawkins’s central theme in “The God Delusion”. The best support for atheism comes from its most vocal opponents.

Just like the Darwin quotation about his problem in contemplating the evolution of the eye; they cite the passage where he raises the objection, but neglect to quote the answer he gives at length only four lines later.
Mere dishonesty.
